How the world learns

On the Coursera Blog there is a nice Infographic  “How the World Learns“, a global analysis of online learning.

The Infographic gives insight in the Top 10 countries for Coursera’s online learning.

Time of study and sleep

There is also nice information on the time of day students in different countries use for their on-line studies. It seems that the time of study  also varies with the location of the students, independent of their timezone.

We know that sleep is very important for learning. See the Ted-Ed lesson Sleep to remember, remember to sleep.

In the Video Tutorial ‘Sleep and Wakefulness’ we have learned that sleep is essential for optimal health status. People without enough sleep accumulate a leep debt resulting in decreased levels of alertness and mental efficiency. It is good to see that students generally do not study at night (computer science students might be at risk).
